What's a metal gear?

Tomorrow's the big day for many gamers. We will finally be able to play Metal Gear Solid 4.

No longer will it be delayed.

No longer will our hopes and dreams be thrown about like some...well, I'm not going to go there.

I've said this a bunch already, but I don't think I will turn the 360 on for quite some time after June 12th. Not only will the gameplay take forever, Metal Gear Online will be taking my focus off of Live for a while.

And with all this excitement, I'm feeling a little down. Why are there two 90-minute cut scenes among the rest? It could potentially total over 3 hours worth of cut scenes. Kojima couldn't edit his story to be more concise?

Sure, die-hard fans will enjoy it. Or rather, they say they'll enjoy it. You won't. There's a point where parts of stories become superfluous. No matter how much you loved Lord of the Rings, that ending grew tiresome. Especially tiring when you are at the midnight showing...

Anyway, no story should be total three hours or more. I'm not talking about gameplay here though. Gameplay can last 8 hours or more for all I care. However, it is possible to tell much of the story through gameplay. I love Metal Gear Solid. The story is decent. I think everyone believes it's more epic than it really is.

I'm afraid this will be tedious.

but, i'm excited....
