Underwhelmed.

I wanted to wait a day. Wanted to sleep on all that info before posting. And yet, I'm still underwhelmed.

Meh. That's how I felt after the WWDC. I guess I was expecting more. Maybe Cliff could have come out and said how much more Bad.A it is. Nah. Still wouldn't have helped.

If you're not a developer, there wasn't much at the WWDC that would excite you besides the 50% off red tag sale. Heck, even then you still have the $100+ bill with AT&T if you want all the features.

What about the games? Ha! The iPhone won't be a good platform for a while. That is, if you take your gaming half seriously.

I had a conversation with a buddy of mine last night at our trivia game, at which time I said I was underwhelmed. His eyes became embiggened with rage! "Underwhelmed!" he gasped. Yes.

You see, the difference here is that he's a programmer and developer. I'm not. To me, Apple is playing catch up with our expectations. Usually, it seems, Apple is ahead of expectations. Leading the pack. Yesterday, it wasn't.

With time, this will seem absurd. Yes, there will be a time that the iPhone and the apps will be extraordinary. Maybe generation 3 or 4. More likely 4.

Anyway, what I'm saying is, so what if I can look at a crappy game and use the accelerometer to steer or drop balls through holes? I'm currently not impressed. I was waiting to be wooed. For the time being, I'm happy with my jailbroken Touch and all the free apps and soon to be ripped apps.
