The World Ends With You is, in my opinion, the best DS game on the market. It's incredibly intuitive...even if the story can get quite silly with emo teenagers. Surprisingly, it's pretty dark.
The main attraction for gamers is the combat. What sets this apart from other games is simultaneously controlling two characters in battle. Your stylus controls the bottom character, whereas the direction pad controls the top. After 30 minutes, you should be very competent with this control scheme. (If you're a lefty, you can use the face buttons to control the top character!)
Its RPG elements has depth as well. As you fight, you can earn money and pins, which give you your special abilities. Some pins allow you to use fire against enemies as you draw lines, while another allows you to slash objects propelling them towards enemies for damage. And that's just the beginning 30 minutes of the game.
As you progress, you'll earn another ability which actually allows you to earn PP (pin points) for the time your DS has been in off mode. Yeah. Me likey.
There are a couple of multiplayer modes as well. I'm not too familiar with those yet. One of which is mingle mode. This will allow you to sell and trade items with others.
I'm positive this game won't leave my DS for a very very long time.
