I really REALLY don't get it.

It seems like Tycho from Penny Arcade and I are the only ones that were not impressed by MGS4.

Every online and magazine review has given the game a 9.3 or higher rating. If I believed in rating a game with a score, I'd give it a 6. Maybe 7. If I could rate it based solely on the gameplay element, I'd give it an 8. Aiming has always been a little too loose in the MGS series. But I can't. You have to take all the story and cutscenes into account because that's the primary element of this game.

It's the story that ruins it for me. No, it's not an intelligent story. You've heard it before. Contrary to what everyone seems to think about it, it's quite a mess. In fact, it's incredibly silly and almost embarrassing. This is why I'm glad MGS4 is [hopefully] Snake's last game. Kojima needs another story and another character to make a better game. If it isn't, the next game will almost surely be a 9 hour cutscene where you the player get limited control of the camera. That's it.

Okay, picture this for a moment. Just think about sitting in a theater and watching this story unfold in movie form. Well, live action since you pretty much do this throughout the game...

I guarantee most people would walk out. Honestly, I don't get the reviews on this game.
