I mentioned a few weeks ago that I was in talks with a local grille to host gaming tournaments in Atlanta. Well, it's finally happening.
The first tournament will be Wednesday August 13 located at the Cheyenne Grille. You can find the Google Map location here.
Right now, I'm thinking of two different types of rules, and I have to narrow it down. It's really going to depend on the turnout. Since it is Rock Band, I want to incorporate all the instruments and let the participants choose what they want to play at the beginning. I'm assuming most will choose guitar and that will make it a TON easier. But, if some want to do the microphone, they can until they run out of microphone opponents. When that happens, they'll have to switch over to another instrument.
That's just one way I'm thinking about. I may do idea number two.
Idea two is to do a score based competition. This will allow any of the participants to choose the instrument he or she is most comfortable with and retain that instrument throughout the competition. The only thing I have to do is research whether certain instruments get more point values. It wouldn't be fair if the microphone only gets 80,000 on a song where the guitar can get 100,000.
I'll research this when I get back from this wedding...
